Crypto buyers and sellers in Zambia are being targeted by scammers, often messaging from Hong Kong (+852) numbers. The scammer sits in the middle of two real people, a buyer and a seller, and sets up a meeting between them in a public place such as a café, mall or car park.
A real message being sent: “After you meet my agent at the cafe, he will place the cash on a table visible to both parties, allowing you to verify the amount and authenticity of the cash.”
Many local middlemen are contacted by scammers posing as foreign buyers or sellers. Because the deal is face-to-face, it feels safe, so they push hard for it to go ahead without realising both sides are being played. If you are arranging a deal for someone else, stop and check it first.
Sometimes the deal is called off after the cash has been shown and counted in public. By then, people around you know you are carrying a large amount of cash, and you can be robbed on the way back. Don't carry large sums of cash to meet strangers.
If you meet someone, talk to them openly: confirm the amount, the rate and where the coin is going. Never send crypto just because you've seen cash on a table. Only release USDT once funds have cleared into your own account. Deal only with verified, registered providers. If in doubt, walk away.
One spread for every method: −2% when we buy your USDT and +2% when we sell USDT to you. All USD rates (bank and cash) are indicative and conform to Bank of Zambia forex directives.

Under Zambian law, we must verify your identity before any trade. Here is what that means in plain language.
Warpspeed Technology Limited is a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) operating under the Bank of Zambia Directives on Virtual Assets 2026 (Gazette Notice No. 1439, gazetted 18 September 2026). We are currently in the 12-month transitional period (Directive 52) and have applied to the Bank of Zambia for a VASP licence. During this period we are permitted to operate and are required to apply full KYC, AML, and transaction monitoring obligations to every client and every transaction.
KYC stands for Know Your Customer. Before we can trade with you, we are legally required to confirm who you are. It is a one-time process — once verified, you can trade with us at any time without repeating it.
KYC and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks protect you from fraud, protect our business, and ensure all transactions are legitimate. Without it, we would be in breach of Zambian law and could not operate at all.
One government-issued photo ID is required. Clear photo or scan, front and back.
Before every transaction we show you the exact rate and total cost. Our spread is 2% for every method — bank transfer, mobile money and cash — added to the mid-rate when you buy, deducted when you sell. All USD quotes, bank and cash, are indicative and confirmed before you trade, in conformity with Bank of Zambia foreign-exchange directives. No hidden fees. The quote you agree to is the rate you trade on.
If you have a complaint, contact us first at mulos@blockchain.co.zm or WhatsApp +260 974 367 364. We will acknowledge within 2 business days and resolve within 14 days. Unresolved complaints may be escalated to the Bank of Zambia.
