Who We Are

blockchain.co.zm

A USDT trading desk built in Lusaka, for Zambia and its neighbours. We are a registered Virtual Asset Service Provider and trade directly with our clients as principal — we are not an exchange and do not operate a matching platform or hold client funds.

Our Story

Why We Built This

We buy and sell USDT — that is our core business. We started with Zambia, where clients can both buy and sell USDT using bank transfer, mobile money, or cash.

In DRC, Zimbabwe and Malawi, we offer a specific service: clients who hold USDT can sell to us and have payment made locally or internationally in USD, EUR, GBP, or ZAR. We understand the banking access challenges faced in these markets and offer a practical, compliant alternative.

Registered VASP

Compliant by Design

We are a registered Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in Zambia, operating under the Bank of Zambia's Virtual Asset Service Provider framework.

VASP registration is not a licence VASP registration with the Bank of Zambia means we are a recognised, registered entity operating within the regulatory framework — it is not the same as a full operating licence. Zambia's virtual asset licensing regime is still being developed. We operate in full compliance with current Bank of Zambia requirements, including KYC/AML obligations, transaction monitoring, and suspicious transaction reporting.
Why we require full KYC onboarding As a registered VASP, we are required by law to verify the identity of every client before entering into a trading relationship. This is not optional — it is a condition of our registration and a legal obligation under Zambia's AML/CFT framework. KYC protects both our clients and the integrity of the financial system by ensuring that transactions are not used to facilitate money laundering, tax evasion, or the financing of illegal activity. Without verified KYC, we cannot trade with you — regardless of the size or nature of the transaction.

We apply KYC and AML screening to every client — individual and corporate — before any trading relationship is established.

What we are — and what we are not
We buy and sell USDT directly with verified clients, in conformity with Zambian law and Bank of Zambia regulations.
All accounts used to transact with us must be registered in the name of the verified individual or business entity. We do not accept or make payments to or from accounts belonging to third parties.
We do not facilitate third-party payments of any kind — whether receiving funds on behalf of another person or paying funds to someone other than the verified account holder.
We do not hold client funds, operate a custodial service, or act as a payment intermediary.
We are not part of any investment scheme, interest-generating platform, yield product, or financial advisory service. We do not offer returns on any funds.
Any client found to be using our service to facilitate third-party transactions, or providing false account information, will be immediately suspended and reported to the relevant authorities.
